My wonderful grandad. I didnt get to spend as much time with you as I wish I could have, but I’m so grateful to have had the time with you that I did. You were, and always will be, an amazing man and I’m honoured to call myself you’re grand-daughter. Sleep tight grandad. I love you, forever and always, Clare. ❤
We have known Mac for a long time. He was always smiling, laughing and had a good English story to tell you. If you hadn’t seen him for a while there was always a warm welcome from him and he wanted to know how you were. And you ended up catching up and talking for far longer than you thought. The world has lost a true English gentleman. Thoughts and prayers to all of Mac’s family.
My condolences to the Young family at Mac’s passing. He was a great guy. I met Mac and Sheila in ’81, when he hired me to referee in their FSSC., and there began a long relationship with them and the club. I ran into Mac at the store earlier this year, he was looking good, and we chatted for awhile. All the best to the Youngs, John.

Thank you Mac (and Sheila) for all you did for the greater Cedar Rapids Soccer Community. You are on my list of local soccer founders. To the Young family, he was a good man, and you are not the only ones who will miss him. Thank you for sharing.
Sheila and family, I am so sorry to hear of Mac’s passing. I enjoyed seeing Mac and Sheila every time they came in to the office to see us. Mac always had a joke or two or many more and the two talking with the two of you more every time. Sheila- please know you and Mac have touched many lives and we can not thank you enough for sharing each other with the rest of us. You will be missed Mac. Please save some jokes for us and your laughter for when we see you again. Jennifer- your favorite nurse 😉
Brian Watters Met Mac and Sheila at FSSSC. Coached a team for several years. Mac introduced a lot of us coaches to soccer because it was not a high school sport for us. Appreciated their love of the sport. Mac and Sheila were some of the founders for soccer in CR.
Sheila and family – we are so very sorry to hear of Mac’s passing. Mac was a delightful man that always had a hug, laughter, and time to ask about how you were doing. Thanks for being part of our family for so many years. You have both shared so much of yourselves with others – and we are all better people to have been part of your adventures here. We will always remember that twinkle in his eye and his hearty laughter God Bless Love Mark & Teresa Wery and family
