Les Sommerville

Leslie Ernest "Les" Sommerville, 43, of Cedar Bluff, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City from cancer. The family will greet friends Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices Mount Vernon Chapel where the service will begin at 7:00. Surviving Les are his mother Patsy of Mount Vernon, companion Deb Weaver and her daughter Mamie of Cedar Bluff, his son Nathan (Misty) Robinson, two grandsons: Skylar and Layton Robinson of Mediapolis, five sisters: Rochelle Ferguson of Mount Vernon, Rebecca Mixon of Lisbon, Deborah Somerville of Valley Park, Missouri, Valerie Wilcox of Angola, Indiana, Pamela (Dan) Sholl of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; and eleven nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by his father Ernie. Les was born January 18, 1962, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, the son of Ernest and Patsy Spangler Sommerville. He attended school in Lisbon and Mount Vernon. Les worked in construction most of his life, including several years with Mount Vernon Construction. Les, a competitive mushroom hunter, loved to fish and hunt, and always had a funny story to share. He will be missed by family and friends. A memorial fund in Les's honor has been established.
