  1. We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services – Mount Vernon

  2. They don’t make them like Lavonne anymore. Years of volunteer service plus a sweet loving personality. She always had a smile and kind word when I dropped off her meals or groceries. She will be missed. Jon B

  3. Pleasant, well spoken, wonderful lady. A pillar of the Lisbon community for so long. We should all be as fortunate to live as long and make an impact to the people around us, and the family that she raised. A life well lived. Thinking of all the family in your time of sorrow.

    Kent Allison

  4. To the Bova Family, You certainly had a Mother to be proud of, as she gave of herself so much, to you, and the community.
As a new bride in her neighborhood, I do remember her so well as one of the first people to give me such a warm welcome to Lisbon. That was many, many years ago. And I will never forget that and her beautiful smile. Most Sincerely,
    Elaine ( Tom ) Ferguson

  5. We have known LaVonne since we moved to town in 1977 and moved across the street from her parents, Sylvester and Esther. LaVonne has been one of those people who everyone knew because she was an ambassador for the city and worked to make it a better place. She was always working on some project for Lisbon. Our condolences to your family. May she rest in peace.

    Steve and Linda Noll

  6. LaVonne and I were close friends for many years beginning when we worked together at Killian’s Department Store in Cedar Rapids when we were teenagers.
LaVonne was very special, and I cherished her friendship over the years.

With Sincere Sympathy for your loss.

  7. La Vonne Bova….what can you say about her that hasn’t been said. She was every where, knew every one and wasn’t above doing every thing and helping every one. She was a doll and loved by so many, bless her heart. I always thought a lot of La Vonne, and she had such a beautiful smile. Lisbon and the community sure will miss her.
    My sympathy to the family,

  8. Lavonne was an amazing lady and we have to be thankful for all she did for the town of Lisbon. She was such a joy to be around. I hate not being there for her service but will be thinking of all of you. I’ll give a donation to the Lisbon History center in her honor.
