  1. Mike, Pat, Judy, Dan,Tom and family: Your mom, just like your dad, were gifts from on high. Laverna will be truly missed. She was a special friend and I will truly miss her. I so much remember the trip a few years ago, where she accompanied me up to Cedar Rapids to visit the Czech Museum. We had so much fun. I also hold dearly, the visit with your dad, shortly before his passing. I will always hold both of them deeply in my heart. The torch has been passed, you all have big shoes to fill, till you join them in heaven. Respectfully, Bill Boyd, a dear friend

  2. LaVerna, what a good time we had at the Lumber Yard. You were like a Mom/partner in mischief and a lot of fun. Through lots of laughs and a few tears…we grew a great relationship together, one I will always treasure and never ever forget. You were a doll and treated me with the greatest affection and respect. I will never forget you and always love you. Keep Bill in line up there in heaven…

  3. Grandma, to say you’ll be missed is an understatement. You were an amazing and remarkable woman, not only to your family, but to everyone that had a pleasure of knowing you. For the last 7+ years, the way you battled and fought was an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for being the best grandmother we could have ever wished for. I hope you know that you’ll be missed terribly but will always be loved by all of us!

  4. So sorry for your loss our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of sorrow. Your parents were amazing people and they will be missed by all.

  5. I just read this in the paper. I am so sorry for your loss! The Sproston’s are thinking and praying for all of you. God Bless. PS Tom and Shelley: Miss you bunches! Love you guys! Connie and Willie

  6. I will always remember Bill and Laverna from when I called on the lumber yard back when I was their salesman with Rock Island Millwork. Bill and I kept in touch through the Hoo-Hoo club. My sympathy to all.

  7. My sympathy to the entire Koch family. Bill & Laverna handled adversity with grace and kindness to others. They were inspiring to all of us as individuals, but most of all as a team. Even those such as myself who were briefly touched by their lives could learn from their example. And they are together, again. God Bless.

  8. I am so sorry for your loss. I have many wonderful memories of hanging out at the Koch house growing up. LaVerna will be missed. Bill and LaVerna were truly pillars of the community. You should all be very proud. Pat Doser
