Larry Hotz

Larry Ray Hotz, 87, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. Visitation: 10:00-11:30 a.m., Friday May 23, 2025, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, Iowa. Funeral: 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Vernon Cemetery. Larry was born on June 30, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Irma (Starry) Hotz. He graduated from Marion High School in 1955. Larry worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for almost 50 years before retiring.Larry was united in marriage to Donna Marie Clemensen on November 2, 1963. They lived in Marion, Iowa before they settled in Mount Vernon. In 2022, Donna and Larry moved into the Rehabilitation Center in Lisbon, Iowa. They were married nearly 60 years until her passing in 2023. Larry loved Donna very much and is now with her in heaven. Larry loved traveling, especially to Arizona where he and Donna made yearly trips after they retired. He also loved golfing, going to the casino, NASCAR, and spending time with his family. Larry is survived by his son, Jerry (Elvira) Hotz; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Hotz; sister-in-law, Peggy (Larry) VanOverschelde; brother-in-law, John (Cathy) Clemensen; grandchildren, Maddison, Alexia, Gavin, Boni, Thomas, Jennifer, and Ernie; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kolby, Colin, Hudson, Audra, Nora, Anthony, Lillian, Wyatt, and Warner; and several, nieces, and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; children, Janice Belle, Joanne Sidoreus, and Matt Hotz; siblings, Robert Hotz, Richard Hotz, and Charles Hotz; and brother-in-law, Peter Clemensen.   2. Jerry, Stephanie anad kids, I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I am forever grateful for the love and friendship that him and Donna shared with mom and dad. I know there is a big fire, a keg, pot chicken, and many stories going on right now. What a celebration they are all having :). Hugs and prayers to all, he was like my second dad for so many years.
