LaDeane 'Deanie' Baker-Taylor, 80, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids. No services are planned. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Deanie was born June 5, 1943, in California, daughter to Frank and Helen (Hawkaday) Welch. Deanie worked as a cosmetologist in her younger years and more recently an administrative assistant for Carlton Computers. Deanie was very talented in arts and crafts. She loved to crochet, knit, and paint. She even won many awards for her artwork. She also loved music, playing the organ, going on walks, mowing the lawn, and gardening. She is survived by her son, Carl (Mary) Willis; grandchildren, Andrew, Dean, Chris, and Jennifer (John); great-grandchildren, Crystal, Chris, Cody, and Bryan; significant other, Rich Chapman; and lifelong friends, Peggy and Terri She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Deanna Willis and Myla Willis; and siblings, Frank Welch and Judy Welch.
