Geri & family-
I was so sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. After the sad news, I was flooded with memories of Kim. In every memory she was smiling and laughing…whether we were bumper skiing, hanging out at Blue Creek, cruising around in someone’s car, or just being girls, she was so much fun to be around. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time. Love, Tami
I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed seeing her smile when I would see her at work. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.
Kim and I go way back to when we were little kids about 6 or 7 maybe younger. I remember going out to there farm climbing trees, playing hide and seek, being chased by a bull and having to climb into a wagon until someone came to rescue us. I remember bobbing for apples on halloween, and when her dad skinned a rabbit and how we ran around grossing out from the smell, going to her bachlorette party and the time we went to the Iowa State Fair and a lazer light show in Iowa City we sure had fun together. I remember when we bought one of those friendship necklaces that has two sides to it and said to each other that we would be best friends forever, and even though we haven’t spoke for years I know that we will forever be best friends, and that someday I will see my best friend again. I love you Kim thanks for the memories!
My deepest sympathies go to Jerry and Kim Petrick’s family! Jerry and Kim were a couple and we will miss her at The Mission of Hope. She always had a smile on her face, no matter how her day was. Life was not long enough for her on earth with us, but God needs her with him now!
I Love you Kim and I will miss you till I see you again in Heaven!!! I will never forget you!!
Love you Kim,
Kimmie <3
Trapped by the bull
I shared some of this story in my guest book signing. Here is the whole story. Our parents were friends so we used to go out to their house in the country alot, and on this farm they had some cows and where there are cows they also had a BIG BLACK BULL. Well we used to climb this one special tree that hung out over the pen where they kept the cows and this bull. We used to tease this bull to try to make him scratch the ground and charge the fence. Well one day we didn’t know that the man that owned the bull had been in the pen and had left the gate open. We really hadn’t payed any attention to the bull that day, we were playing in the hay barn. we had come out of the barn and was walking around to find something else to do when we spotted the bull outside the pen just when we spotted him he spotted us and started charging right for us luckily there was and old wagon that we ran to and climbed in just as the bull got to where we were. He bumped the wagon and boy did we start screaming which I think made the bull even more mad. He was snorting and scratching the ground well the owner heard our screams and finally came and got the bull back in the pen, but for a while you could say the bull had us in a pen. I don’t remember messing with the bull to much after that. I know that my sisters and I really enjoyed hanging out with Kim and her sisters and Bud
when they lived out in the country on that old farm.
Kim was such a wonderful woman! She will be greatly missed by many! I only knew her a short period of time but she will never be forgotten!
I only knew Kim for a short time, but was blessed to be part of her journey. She was a very strong woman who spoke lovingly of her children often and I take comfort knowing she is happy, healthy and loved now.

Our deepest sympathy, the picuture of Kim is just how I remember her, with a warm smile. She was very kind to me as a newbee to Center Point and made me feel welcomed.
Our heartfelt sympathy to Gerri and her family. Kim will be greatly missed.

I will never forget New Year’s Eve 2000; we stayed at the Long Branch and had a really great time and at the end of the evening Kim & snatched all of the decorations so I could take them home. She was also the best handywoman around, she did such a great job of painting and hanging the blinds in our mobile home. She will be greatly missed but in a better place.
Bonnie
My many happy times with Kim and her family will continue on in my memories. I am saddened by her passing but, happy to have shared in her life.
I wish I could be there to say goodbye to Kim today, and be with the family. All my love to Cherish and Quary, I will always remember the good times we all had together.
My son Jared Mathews was good friends with Quary growing up, and when he heard of Kim’s death, he took it pretty hard as he thought of Kim as a “mom”. I will forever be greatful that he had Kim and the Petricks in his life, for I know it made his life all the better. It’s a tribute to Kim, that other children besides their own, thought enough of her to think of her as their second mom. It tells just what kind of wonderful mother and person she was. Our thoughts are with you all.
Bye Kimmy!! Much love, you will be missed by all. Geraldine, Terry, Vicki and Bud I’m really sorry for your loss. I can still and always will be able to hear her laugh!! Much Love,
Pammy
Gerri, So sorry to hear about your daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family. With deepest sympathy from an old friend, Donna.
Kim will be dearly missed. All the participants and staff at the Witwer Center enjoyed seeing Kim. We loved seeing her smiling face and hearing her positive attitude. We are all deeply saddened by this loss.
May the family of Kim find peace in her passing. We were so sorry to learn of her death. We have so many happy memories of Kim when Cherish and Quary were growing up. She was a good friend.
