Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I knew Kevin in High School at Regis. What a nice, quiet person! So sorry for his loss.

    God Bless,

    Beth (Elam) Kohl

  2. We were shocked to see Kevins’ name in the paper. We never want to see someone we know, especially someone so young. We are so sorry. I remember him from 35th street.. He was the cutest little boy. I also remember when Ross, Kyle and Kevin were caught on the roof of the school. That was quite an experience. Again, so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you. Ross and Barb Behel

  3. I speak for all of us who were lucky to be Kevin’s teammate at Regis when I say that he was one heck of a basketball player and nice guy. It was Kevin who calmly took his practice dribbles before nailing two critical free throws at the end of our sub state game at Benton Community to propel us to State and the promised land, Des Moines. Here’s to Kevin getting to the real promised land. Prayers and love to Kevin’s family at this difficult time. Teammates in basketball and brothers in Christ.

  4. To the Simmons family, I am so sorry to hear of Kevins passing. Kevin and I have been great friends for 30+ yrs. and he is a special one. Thoughts and prayers to my buddy Kevin and his family..

  5. My heartfelt sympathy to the Simmons family upon reading of Kevin’s death. Although it’s been years since our paths have crossed, I recall how polite and well-mannered Kevin was as a young, handsome red-headed lad in grade school at Kenwood Elementary and as a student at Regis. May fond memories of Kevin bring comfort to Bernita and Jim and their family as they grieve the loss of one so loved.
    Remembering you in prayer.

  6. Kevin was there for my first dunk at 9 foot hoops at Kenwood. He was the reason we played hundreds of games of 21, all dunk games of h-o-r-s-e, we took on local college players 4on4 and won because no one knew how to play on 9 foot hoops like we did. I can still hear the Red Camaro’s “BAROOOOOGA!” as he sat in my driveway waiting to pick me up, to go to the Y, or Kenwood, or to school, or to a party (when I said we were going to a girls volleyball game, or some other made up story). I can sing all the word to Grandmaster Flash “New York, New York” from all the times it was blasting from the Red Camaro. Life happens, and we lose track of our childhood friends, but Kevin will always be in my memory. I’m going to sing some Grandmaster Flash to my boys today, in memory of him. -Steve McGrane

  7. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin’s family. I was shocked to hear of Kevin’s passing. I worked with Kevin at the Cedar Rapids Country Club for several years. He was a unique individual who lived for the here and now. He had a love for the game of golf and talked often of his friends and family. He often expressed appreciation for the things his mom and dad did for him. I am so sorry for your loss of son, brother, uncle, friend. My sympathies to you all. Sincerly, and God Bless………………………………………………………………………………………. Martha Krecioch

  8. To the family of Kevin Simmons-I am very sorry for your loss.Take care and God bless you all.sincerely Timothy A. Hotz.
