Kevin James Oliver, 40, of Cedar Rapids, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Family and friends will gather from 4-7 p.m. with a sharing of memories at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his mother, Kathy (Perry) Harris; siblings, Kenny Oliver Jr., Karmen Oliver, and Aisha Mitchell; aunt, Janice Bemer; and many other siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kevin was born on July 2, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Kathy (Bemer) Oliver, Sr. He graduated from high school in 1997. Kevin was active as a fighter in Cedar Rapids area MMA events. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorials may be directed to the family.

You were such a kind and loving man you opened your home to me and all 8 of my kids you always were good to me and my kids. I still can’t believe you were gone. I remember the day we found out that your mom and my mom were cousins. We had already lived as roommates for a couple of months before we found out.   4. My nephew Kevin was a great young man he would give you the shirt off of his back there’s been countless people that he has given food and shelter to. He always saw the good in people and refuse to see the bad he always had his own house he never asked anyone for anything we were very close we would keep each other laughing when we were together. I will miss his hugs and hear him tell me I love you Aunt Sandy I’ll see you later. I will truly miss you Kevin. Love Aunt Sandy
