Kevin Morgan, 62, of Marion, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. At Kevin's request, a private family gathering will take place. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, is caring for Kevin and his family.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Lori; son, Joseph (Mallory) Morgan; granddaughter, Jordyn Lynne Morgan; several extended family members; and good friends and bicycle comrades, Terry Wahle and Dick Manning.
Kevin Scott Morgan was born March 4, 1956, in Centerville, to John and Patsy (Sebben) Morgan. He married Lori on February 14, 1989, in Marion. Kevin worked as a Maintenance/Grounds Facilitator for Five Seasons Senior Housing for 24 years. He treasured riding his bike, participating in numerous RAGBRAI and TOMRV rides, as well as being a member of the Hawkeye Bicycle Association. Kevin loved animals and enjoyed working, especially at his job and in the yard; he felt gratified with a hard day's work. He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, willingness to help others, and, above all, his love of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Evelyn and Geno Sebben; and brother, Gary Lohr.
Special thanks to Kevin's caregivers, including Hospice of Mercy.
I was saddened to read of Kevin’s passing I remember him from the years my mother in law resided at Five Seasons Senior Housing and the help he provided her and all the residents there.. When Kevin found out that I was (then) Mayor of Marion he came to me and offered to volunteer for the City. I was pleased to appoint him to the Public Services Board where he actively and honorably served until his passing. My thoughts and condolences are with his family at this sad time. Paul Rehn
Our thoughts and prayers go to Kevin’s family. We have fond memories of many bike riding trips with Kevin not only on RAGBRAI but weekly rides with Hawkeye Bicycle Association. He was a great biker and friend and we enjoyed many laughs together. Kevin was such a kind and considerate man. He will be greatly missed. Todd and Becky Dickinson
Our sincere thoughts go to Kevin’s entire family. We have many fond memories of Kevin in our driveway and ready for another of our great bike rides together. Kevin and I rode together on many RAGBRAI’s, TOMRV’s and countless Hawkeye Bicycle Association (HBA) rides. Kevin was always a great friend and we enjoyed many laughs and great times together over the past twenty years. We will never forget our time with Kevin and we will miss his kind smile.
My sincere thoughts and prayers to Kevin’s family. He was always a great friend to ride with all times on RAGBRAI.
I will miss his smile and friendship . Rest well my friend.
