He was an amazing uncle who showed his nephews how to use a bow and fire a musket. Bub was a thoughtful, caring person who always stepped in to help a friend in need. He loved his community and liked sharing his vegetables from his garden and visiting with friends and neighbors. Ken will be deeply missed by close friends Roger Gray and Rita, Deb Wagner, and Dan Scofield and wife Marcia, and the many friends that passed through his life. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services – Mount Vernon

  2. Thoughts and Prayers go to Kenny’s family. Kenny helped Justin and I a lot. He always made sure we were taken care of., and that we were doing the right thing. Every time we saw him, he reminded us to make sure we cleaned the dryer vent. You will be missed Kenny, and I did remember to clean out the dryer vent. Rest in Peace

  3. Ken was such a good friend to all of us. Lots of long gab sessions in our shop whenever he stopped in to just visit. We knew he had been having health issues, but he just complained because of things he would like to be doing and couldn’t. Ken, now you can plant a big garden again and take care of it the way you always did. We will miss you and will always remember you.

  4. So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. We were neighbors of his in Anamosa until we recently moved. Ken was a good neighbor and we will miss visiting with him. He would usually let us know when the mail had come since our house was one of the furthest from the mailboxes. Our thoughts are with you. He will be missed. Keith and Joni Somerville

  5. Rest in Peace Grandpa Kenny! I will always remember the day we went fishing and you weren’t catching anything with your pole, so you started using my scooby doo pole. I will miss you! Much love ❤️

  6. A classmate , a neighbor and a friend to many, Ken was always kind and helpful. My greatest joy was when he brought a box of baby raccoons into our home in the 1970s and let them out to run all over the kitchen floor so toddlers Jill, Chad and Joni could round them up to play with. Kenny giggled as loud as the kids. Those kind of memories of nature were God’s gift to Kenny. May his family share peace with those types of memories. Connie Knutsen
