Kathleen 'Kathy' Engle, 69, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her house. No services are planned. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Kathy was born on September 1, 1955, in Oceanside, California, daughter to Robert and Kathleen (Moore) Engle. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an Associates Degree and worked at a bank.
Kathy lived a simple and pure life. She enjoyed playing bingo, the lottery, and spending time with her great-niece, Kaydee.
She is survived by her daughter, Casey (Sean) Fordyce; sisters, Carol Straight and Barb Gould; grandson, Talyn Scott; nieces, Alysha Dittmar and Ashley Gould; nephew, Tony Blackford; great-niece, Kaydee Moore; and many loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Dennis Engle.

Great childhood memories. Teenage memories were a lot of fun. My visits back home were always memorable. My very last text message with my dear sister, she was worrying about my husky Blue tolerating his seizure meds. I responded couple more text messages and I didn’t hear from Kathy anymore. She was only a phone call away, talking or texting. I love you and miss you already. ❤️❤️❤️

Some of my fondest memories as a child involved my Aunt Kathy. Whether doing errands with my great grandma, or going to see Bambi at the movies, my Aunt Kathy was a constant. I will miss you, but I take comfort that you’re at peace. I love you.
Kathy were going to miss you. There’s been stuff happening and I say I’m going to call or text you and then I realize I can’t do that. We can still talk to you forever.
