June Malinda Ohrt Bair Kubik, 86 of Lisbon, died Friday, July 12, 2013 in Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. June's Funeral will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2013 in the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church by Pastor Becky High. June's visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. June's burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. June is survived by her husband Everett of Mount Vernon, four sons: LeRoy "Lee" (Lois) of Winterset, Earl (Holly Leatherman) of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, Larry (Ruth Mattison) of Birchwood, Wisconsin, and Ronnie (Marcia McEowen) of Cedar Rapids; daughter Darlene (Joe) Broders of Lisbon; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters: Wiona Lange of Henderson, Nevada, and Paula (Rich) Hubler of Tipton; two brothers: Richard "Rich" (Beverly) Ohrt of Tipton and Donald (Judy) Ohrt of Wilton; a sister-in-law Florence Ohrt of Sanborn, and a brother-in-law Bill Young of Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold Bair who died in 1979; grandson Brian Bair; sisters: Norma Williams, Edna Young, and Velma Musil; brothers: Edward and William "Bill" Ohrt; and six siblings who died in early childhood/infancy. June was born June 7, 1927 in Tipton, the daughter of Gustav and Emma Schroeder Ohrt. She attended country school through eighth grade. On October 18, 1945 she married Harold Bair. June married Everett Kubik May 18, 1985. June worked as a Baker and Cook for the Holiday House Restaurant in Mount Vernon for many years. She worked for Bob's Super Value and later Dave and Garys Super Value. She was a member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and a member of the Mount Vernon Legion Auxiliary. June loved to feed people, always from scratch, and making families' favorite dishes. She especially loved getting her entire family together; Christmas and Easter were her favorite holidays. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center, Hallmark Care Center, and Essence of Life Hospice for the wonderful care given to June. Thank you to the Morgan Funeral Home staff for their guidance in our time of need. Contributions in June's honor will be used by the family to purchase special memorial items for the care centers.
