Judith (Judy) Wirth, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died of a sudden illness on April 18, 2023. Services are private. The Family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. She is survived by her husband, Merrill; daughter, Michelle and 'favorite son-in-law' Bill Black; special grandsons Austin (Rachel) Black, and Corey (Alanna) Black; extra special great-grandchildren, Noah, Ian, Theodore, Briggs, and Lilah; siblings, Linda, Dolores, Penny, and Bill. Judith Mae Richards was born May 17, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. She was married to Merrill Wirth for 56 years. Judy worked over 35 years at Rockwell Collins. She loved being 'Granny' to all who knew her. She liked bowling, spending time with friends and family, and was a dedicated Hawkeye fan ' GO HAWKS. Caring for others was at the top of Judy's list. Whenever asked, Judy was 'pretty close to wonderful.' She baked and designed cakes for many special occasions. Her final gift was helping others through her donation to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Neil Richards, Edna (James) Vickroy, David and Ruby (O'Connor) Richards, and Everett Thompkins; siblings, Nancy, Donny, Neil, Carol, Shirley, Gloria, and Sally. Memorials may be directed to the family for donation.
