bat in the house
Mom and dad were asleep.me and my brother were down stairs watching TV. Seen something fly in the kitchen. My brother is sitting on the couch with a blanket wrapped around him. All u could see was eyes. I went to kitchen and this bat flew at me. Of course the screaming woke up mom and dad. The bat flew upstairs. I had a fly swatted and cutting board. My brother had spatula and bowl. Dad grabbed the extending ceiling fan cleaner…mom stayed downstairs. Well dad found the bat in the corner and when he pushed the fan cleaner on the bat the dang thing callapsed. Therefore the bat flew and landed on my leg and I threw it on my brothers head..dad finally grabbed a towel and threw over it…mom was downstairs laughing so hard..she could not see all she could do was hear everything….that’s just one of almost twenty years of memories.
Fran, I never got to meet Jerry but he loved you, and that’s really all I needed to know. I am so sorry for the loss of a good man. Sorry for the loss to his family. But as I heard in a song once long ago, I am sure he will “walk just beyond the moon, and he (I) will stop and wait for you.” Love you and yours and pray for peace for all. RIP Jerry!
