She attended Trinity Lutheran School, and Kennedy High School, where she graduated in 2008. She attended the University of Northern Iowa for two years, then moved closer to home (per Leon's request) to attend Mount Mercy College, graduating in Communications in 2012. Jen worked for MediRevv for several years, and most recently worked as a Supervisor of Patient's Accounts at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A selfless person, Jen enjoyed volunteering, especially for the Cedar Valley Humane Society. Her love of dogs extended to her Shiba Inu, Mika. She was a vegetarian and loved to cook'especially pasta'and even learned to cook chicken for Steve. Jen loved trying new things, and was incredibly adventurous. Anything she chose to do she did wholeheartedly.
Jen was a wonderful daughter, girlfriend, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Leon and Marilyn and family of Jennifer, words cannot express how so sorry we are for your loss. She was one of Dacota’s first friends when they were little and you babysat the boys. Jennifer and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Jen regarding claim issues for Cedar Rapids and we had a good working relationship. Along with having a great personality, she was great to work with and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Jen and her family.

Leon, Marilyn, and family. I am so very sorry! I am just shocked. I knew Jennifer when she was just a baby as you know. Such a sweet little girl. There are no words to describe the loss of a child. I am so sorry that you and all of your family members have to go through this. My heart hurts for each one of you.
I worked with Jen at Mercy and although I did not know her very well, I know she was a very kind considerate person who added to our Mercy team. My sympathy to her family and close friends, she will be missed deeply.
My sympathy to Jen’s family and friends. I will always remember her as a smiling and ambitious worker with lots of talent. She was respected by those of us that worked with her at Mercy. A tragic loss to all, may God give you strength in the days ahead.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you and Steve, in your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Deepest sympathy for Jen’s family. Death was not part of God’s original purpose for us. Our loving God considers death as his enemy – 1 Corinthians 15:26 – “the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.” Death is an enemy that separates us from our loved ones. When death is removed, we will have the joy of our loved ones being resurrected to enjoy life the way our Grand Creator purposed for us…forever on earth. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9, 11)
