Jeffrey Joseph Loehr was born August 29, 1960, in Anamosa, to Allen and Dorothy (Mysak) Loehr. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1980, and served in the Army for four years, then the Iowa National Guard for 16 years. Jeff most recently worked for International Automotive Components, Iowa City. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting'anything outdoors. Jeff especially loved spending time with his family, especially grandson, Caiden, and nephew, Connor. Though he looked like a grizzly bear, he was really a Teddy bear; he was always teasing the kids and making everybody laugh.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Allen; and brothers, Ronald and Theodore Loehr.
May fond memories bring you comfort during this difficult time. What I will always remember most was his smile and his laughter. My heart and prayers go out to the family.
Dear Jeff,
I miss you so much. This was way too soon. I know you are at peace now and are most likely giving God grief. Do me a favor and don’t get His name wrong on purpose like you used to do with any kid you came in contact with just to see their reaction. I love you so much. It’s going to be very difficult without you, you were so important to so many. I know you will be watching over and guiding. I am so blessed to have had a brother like you. I was always so proud of you. Even when we were just kids I remember being proud of you. I was so in awe of you that I even followed your steps into the service. I know I will also follow the steps you have just taken and I am so overwhelmed by my knowledge that I will definitely see you again, I know where you are, and it’s the best comfort I have. I will be seeing you,
Love, Debra
My favorite memories of him was just how funny he was and how loving he was. He was always calling me a different name just to make me laugh and it always made me smile. I know he is up on heaven and calling god a different name and making him laugh too. I will always remember my uncle Jeff as the man who made others smile and loved being around him. He had a huge heart and loved his family most of all. You will be so missed. I can’t wait to see you again. 💋
