James 'Jim' Lee, 69, of Walford, Iowa, passed away on January 12, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
James was born June 16, 1955, in Amherst, Ohio, son to Hans and Ruth (Noble) Lee. He worked as Technical Quality Manager for Collins Aerospace and was united in marriage to Laura Lee on December 31, 2008 in Evansdale, Iowa.
James was a remarkable man, deeply devoted to his faith and full of passion for life. He was an incredibly talented musician, finding joy in singing, playing, and sharing his music with others. His love for nature was evident in his photography, his time spent relaxing on the patio in the sun, and his enjoyment of fishing and hunting. Above all, James cherished spending time with his family. He was always ready to serve others, offering a helping hand to anyone in need. His life was a testament to kindness, warmth, and a heart full of love.
James is survived by his wife, Laura Lee; children, Jason (Tanya) Lee, James Lee, and Jennifer Lee; grandchildren, Makayla Lee, Aleece Lee, Jaks Lee, Jameson Lee, Emma Baele, Gabriel Bruce, Maddox Bruce, Kinnick Bruce, and Gracie Bruce; siblings, Mary (Steve) Brubaker, and Jack (Mary) Wolfe; nieces, Angela (Rich) Brecht, Jessica (James) Vaughan, Bonnie (Steve Tomblin) Brubaker, and Cassie (Gary) McClure; great-niece and nephews, Amber Rose, Liam, and Neo; parents-in-law, Larry Hartig and Patricia Harvey; step-children, David (Maria) Anderson, Alexandra (Mike) Bruce, and Cody Anderson; brother-in-law, David (Shelli Hutton-Hartig) Hartig; and sister-in-law, Lynda Hartig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles.

So sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing.We will always remember the great times we shared with him and Laura. Going to his music venues, hanging at The Angle and just chit chatting on his deck. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Collins for 25 years; he was a good a colleague and friend at work as anyone could hope for. He was also universally admired and respected as an oracle of knowledge. He will be truly missed by the many of us fortunate to have known him at work.
