Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our entire family (myself, Mindy, AJ, and Allison pray that Grandma Knowles is at peace. Our memories of Grandma Knowles will always be filled with her strength and simple love of life and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We love you Grandma, and will miss you.

  2. Sue and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t see the obit until after the funeral or I would have come. Your Mom was such a nice lady and always so sweet. She always recognized me when we would see each other at Immaculate Conception. I still remember how great your mom and dad were when we went to Minnesota in 8th grade. That was the first time I learned to fish and enjoyed eating fish. I’m sure your family has some great memories of her and how blessed you’ve been to have her till now. Take care and God Bless you all. Marie

  3. Grammie, we(all my sisters {Karen, Barbara & Ellen}, brothers{Mike & Tom} & our families) know you are at peace up in heaven with Bompy and Dad. Although we’ve all lost touch over the years, not a day went by that I didn’t pray for you. My Mother, Ann, (now in a nursing home in Virginia) always remembered your special recipes for cooking Iowa beef to put a smile on Dad’s face! We still use your homemade barbeque sauce in my house! You were a tremendous comfort to all of us when Dad passed away, ironically, 16 years ago to the exact date of your passing. Had I known, I would have attended the services at St. Jude. You will always have a special place in my heart, especially during all the holidays I came down from Minnesota while attending law school. With much love,
    Cathy

  4. Grammie – speaking on behalf of the John Knowles’ family; myself, Michael, Barbara, Cathy, Ellen, Tom & each of their families – our prayers & thoughts are with you. As my sister, Cathy already mentioned, you were a wonderful inspiration to us when you & Uncle Dick came to Florida for Dad’s funeral. We were truly grateful to you. My personal favorite memory was when you & Aunt Sue would come to visit me almost every Saturday when I was in Dubuque – we had some fun times then! Another memory is that we all loved your great cooking – good comfy foods! You always took time to make some our ‘favorites’ when we came to visit. Even though our family has split years ago, I’ve always had you in my heart & especially on May 8th – you’re special day. I know you’re in Heaven & having a grand time with Dad, Bompy, Grandpa Hofferd & Nana! Love to you,(your 1st born grandchild) Karen Ann “KK” Knowles Lufkin
