Graig Nost

Graig Lewis Nost, 66, of Lisbon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund for Graig has been established and may be directed to the family. Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services of Mount Vernon is assisting the family.Survivors include his children, Ben (Alyssa) Detert of West Virginia, Doria (Richard Jr.) Cook of Cedar Rapids, Jeremy (Nicole) of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Trevor, John, Lauryn (Kory), Kiily, Tavian, Quincy, Avery; two great grandchildren, Landon, Alora; his mother, Dorothy of Lisbon; sister, Sheryl (Duane) Pospisil of Lisbon; two brothers, Ronnie (Sheila) of Florida, Mark (Anita) of Cedar Rapids; close friends, Tom Berdo, David Price, DJ Maus, Walter Cashatt; many nieces; nephews; friends; and relatives.Graig Lewis Nost was born February 2, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Dorothy Irving Nost. He grew up in Lisbon, where he attended school. Graig graduated from Lisbon High School in 1974. Immediately after high school, Graig began working as a carpenter. He was a proud union member of carpenter's local 308 and worked there until his retirement. Graig was blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His grandchildren, Quincy and Avery, were treasured by Graig and he never missed any activities. Game or practice, Graig loved to see Quincy and Avery participate. Graig also loved listening to live-music. He spent many hours at local live-music venues, Rumors, Whiskey Joes, and Sutliff Cider. Graig enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye Football and Wrestling fan.He was preceded in death by his father, Don; and a close friend, Jim Kepler.
