Gary and I were employees at Quaker Oats back in the 70’s. We were the original Quaker Hippies. He was a hard worker as we worked together delivering freight through out the plant. Recently we reconnected but way too briefly. He inspired me to keep a positive happy outlook on life.

Sorry for your loss Gary was a good friend ,husband, father ,and grandpa and he would always talk about his family to his friends. I remember when he would come over to my parents house and we would always say time to get the scissors out and he would try and hide his hair and say NO and we would all laugh about it. He loved his dog and his hippie van and everytime my daughter would see it she would always say there goes ponytail. He went to see his uncle Jay and left the shoplifter along

To the family and friends of Gary Ulfers,
My prayers and care join yours during this time. Gary lived on my grandparent’s farm with his watchful dog. His caring presence to my mother and my aunt are cherished memories.. We, as family, also remember in celebrating my mother’s 75th Birthday celebration via a trolley and an extra-long sub that stretched over the porch of the historic farm home were truly awed and appreciative of Gary’s gracious welcome with a meticulous lawn that captured the sun’s light throughout the day. In gratitude and care, Sr. Maurita Soukup, RSM
