Fredrick McLaud, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, with a special sharing of memories at 6 p.m. at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his mother, Paula McLaud; common law wife, Pam Denny; four daughters, Shawn McLaud, Teresa McLaud, Kristi McLaud, and Torie Shimmin; sister, Rose Douglas; six grandchildren, Jade, Shanell, Kamar, Aria, Aalyah, and Arianna; a great-grandson, Leo; many nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew, Danelle and Chad McLaud; his dogs, Logan and Hercules; and many relatives and friends. Fred was born July 26, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Fredrick Edward and Paula (Arenas) McLaud. He was a truck driver most of his life, but most recently worked as a grain inspector at Cargill. Fred enjoyed NASCAR and riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Wayne McLaud. Memorials may be directed to the family.







Fred you were my best friend and always there in my time of need. And I in yours, weather to bail you out for being stupid and driving or for being supportive during my divorce. I love you my friend and I will miss you.
Freddie was a dear friend! We will remember all the fun memories of times together.
I just wanted to let you know that Freddie will never be forgotten and he will always remain close in the hearts of those who loved him. Freddie grew up with my father and he would always come into the old Clark Station on e. ave. and tell me tales of my father. it meant alot to me.

I have so many memories of my years with Fred. All the great times we had at Humboldt and Vinton at the Harley rallies,our camping every summer and our holiday “dinners” at our house on N St.We had so many fun times with our family and friends there, always plenty of cold beer and so many laughs at our house.I and everyone else that ever was there will always remember those good times with Freddy.
