Floyd C. McIntosh, Jr. 77, of Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, January 9, 2015. Memorial Services: 3 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Private Inurnment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two brothers, Eugene (Flora) McIntosh of Cedar Rapids and Ernest (Wanda) of Tracy City, Tennessee; a sister, Noreen Phelps of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was born September 3, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Floyd and Ann (Gaston) McIntosh Sr. He worked as a sorter at Goodwill Industries for many years. Floyd enjoyed fishing, going to Milestones, and having pancakes at Village Inn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Shirley Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to Hospice of Mercy.
Floyd was a special guy in so many ways. His kind and gentle spirit will live in our hearts always. He was always ready with a smile and a joke. To know him was to love him. He will be missed. My condolences go out to Floyd’s family, housemates and his caregivers. Thanks for sharing him with us. We are all better for having known him.
