Ernest H. Albaugh, 86, of Shell Rock, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Shell Rock Senior Living, Shell Rock. Funeral: 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, with visitation 9:00 a.m. until service time, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, Iowa. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa. Ernest was born on August 26, 1938, in Atalissa, Iowa, the son of Calvin and Selma (Kellerhals) Albaugh. He was united in marriage to Nancy Parker on June 7, 1958, in Mechanicsville. Ernest enlisted in the United States Navy from 1955-1959 and the Army National Guard from 1975-1979. He was a part of the Tin Can Sailors of the US. Ernest was a third-degree member of Lodge 616 Freemont. Ernest served on the Mechanicsville Fire Department for 22 years and Ambulance for 19 years. Ernest is survived by his daughter, Susan (Dave) Felder of Torbert, Louisiana; grandchildren, Amy (Jamie) Jarreau, Darci Felder, Darryl Felder, Sarah (Tyler) Kramer, and Melissa Albaugh (Tyler Garcia); great-grandchildren, Lane Jarreau, Dani, Davis, and Dade Felder, Elise, and Evan Safranek, and Harrison, Calvin, and Benjamin Kramer; daughter-in-law, Shelly Albaugh; and sisters, Mary Albaugh, and JoElla Deforest. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Jay Albaugh; siblings, Grant Armstrong, Larry Albaugh, Rose Bailey, and Teddy Albaugh. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or Mechanicsville American Legion Post 0309
