Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson, 54, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Oldorf Hospice House. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids is caring for Eric’s family.

Eric Allen was born on November 3, 1971, to Mary Colleen (Maddigan) and Allen Johnson. He graduated from Washington High School before attending classes at Kirkwood Community College with an emphasis in construction.

A collector of many different things, Eric could fix anything. He was mechanically and electrically gifted. Eric’s love of being around horses shone with their “good company”.

Eric is survived by his parents; half-brother, Carl Johnson; aunts and uncles, Richard (Deana) Johnson, Carol (John) Ramussen, Jack (Barb) Davidson, Maureen Maddigan, Kevin Maddigan, Kathleen Maddigan, and Mary (Pat Bresnahan) Maddigan; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Elaine Johnson, and Robert and Delores Maddigan; aunt and uncles, Brian Johnson, Pat Maddigan, Mike Maddigan, Timothy Maddigan, Tom Maddigan, Terry Maddigan, Kelly Maddigan, and Eileen Ladimer; and cousin, Brian Davidson.
