Emma Betty Clary

Emma Betty Lou Hermanson Settles Clary, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab. A celebration of life will be held near her birthday in May. Survivors include her children, Kelly M. Settles of Cedar Rapids, John Rafter of Michigan; stepdaughter, Marian Settles of Chicago; grandchildren, Jonathon McNulty of Cedar Rapids, Mary A. Settles, of Marion, and Jersey and Jayden of Michigan; great grandchildren, Jaliyah and Noah, who is on the way; her boyfriend, JJ, and her uncle, Mike Paul. Emma was born on May 10, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sister, Lillian; and many other family members. A special thank you to Dr. Cowden and Unity Point Hospice for their compassionate care during Emma's illness. The family appreciates all that you did for her. Also thank you to her former neighbors, Georgia and her boyfriend, and Rose for all of their help. Memorials can be directed to the family.
