Ellen Lavonne Coleman, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at her home in Cedar Rapids. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids are caring for Ellen's family.Ellen is survived by her husband, Lee; three daughters, Shannon (Thomas) Thacker of Hugo, Oklahoma, Misty (Jeff) Elliff of Oxford, Tia (Chris) Kohrt of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Jake, Brandon, Zach, Kaitlin, Nathan, Audrey, Chase, Lila; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Chuck, George, Rick, and Carl.Ellen Coleman, the daughter of Emily Beck Sundberg, was born November 20, 1948, in Ohio. Ellen was united in marriage to Lee Coleman on November 23, 1981. The couple made their home in Cedar Rapids. Ellen worked as a dog-groomer and mother and also retired from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed reading, dancing, oldies music and was big animal lover. Ellen loved spending time with her family, but, she also had a very special place in her life for her pet dogs, Sassy and Rocky.She is preceded in death by mother, Emily Beck; son, John Stern; and grandmother, Pearly Skinner.
