Eleanor Ray was my cousin.
I saw her alot when she lived in Missouri. She will be missed.
Condolences to her children and grandkids . May God comfort the family.
I will try to keep my words few. Growing up in Cedar Rapids Iowa, some of my fondest childhood memories were of getting in the family car, and taking a four hour road trip to Bowling Green, Missouri! One of the first things we always did, after unloading the luggage and hugging our Grandma Pauline, was running across the backyard to see our Aunt Eleanor, and her kids, Sylvia and Frank! (Yock and Sybbie) Eleanor was a beautiful, graceful, Black woman, I always thought she was one of the Supremes back then! She was kind, funny, compassionate, and cook up a storm! I didn’t realize until adulthood that she was actually my cousin, not my aunt, because her and my father were so close, he used to tease her like a kid sister! I’m sure he’s teasing her in heaven right now!
May you be comforted through this time of transition. Her light will forever shine in your hearts.
