Earl Bruce Lagerquist, 80, of Marion, passed Friday, May 19, 2017, at Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at Red Creek Lodge at Squaw Creek Park, Marion. Visitation: 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Sheryl (David) Schlenker, Sally (Mark) Cross, Greg (Mary) Lagerquist, Stacy (Michael) Andersen, and Sandra Lagerquist; grandchildren, Zachary Cross, Erin (Craig) Davis, Tyler Lagerquist, Ryan Andersen, Katie Andersen, and Ashley Lagerquist; great-grandchildren, Kresten, Reagan, and Laney; sibling, Clifford (Lydia) Lagerquist; sister-in-law, Nadine Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Earl Bruce Lagerquist was born November 4, 1936, to Harry and Anna (Nielsen) Lagerquist, in Cedar Rapids. He attended Cleveland Grade and Roosevelt High Schools. He married Barbara McDonald on March 5, 1955. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary this year with their fun loving family. Earl worked at Collins Radio/Rockwell for 38 years. He was a very loving and thoughtful husband and father; he adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved puttering, woodworking, and anything to do with electronics or computers. Earl and Barbara enjoyed traveling around the country after his retirement. Family history and genealogy also interested him. His organized mind allowed him to dig into almost everything that came his way and he shared his love of tinkering with his children. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Harry Jr., Paul, Donald, Dorothy, Carl, and Wilbur Lagerquist. Memorials may be made to The Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation or Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
