Dwight A. Wilbanks, 54, of Marion died Friday, August 13, 2021, of cancer. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, followed by a reception until 5 p.m. Inurnment: at a later date. Dwight is survived by his wife, Redemptna Aguilar; son, Jacob Aylsworth of Savannah, Missouri; four grandchildren; mother, Martha (Hugh) Ellingson of Marion; sister, Susan Wilbanks of Marion; brothers, Timothy Wilbanks, of Cedar Rapids, and Eric Wilbanks, of Tiffin; six nieces and nephews; and many extended family members, colleagues, and friends. Dwight was born in Midland, Michigan on November 24, 1966, to Robert and Martha (Neal) Wilbanks. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1985 and later worked as a self-employed computer programmer, working in the Dallas/Fort Worth areas and more recently in Shenzhen, China. He married Redemptna Aguilar January 7, 2015, in North Liberty. Dwight was an outgoing, trustworthy, and adventurous man. He enjoyed computers, researching state of the art technology, singing karaoke, and going to parties. Dwight will be missed by all who know and love him. He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations will be given to the American Cancer Society.
