Douglas 'Doug' Taylor, 61, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Doug was born August 3, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son to James and Barbara Taylor. Doug married Elaine Ehlers on May 7, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in October of 2023. Doug enjoyed watching sports, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also enjoyed golf, playing with his dogs, grilling outside, going to the casino, and playing pool. Doug is survived by his wife, Elaine Taylor; siblings, George (Charlotte Mirabella) Taylor, Suisan (Ken Burnside) Goldberg, and Rob (Jennifer) Taylor; numerous loving nieces and nephews, and beloved dogs, Cade and Theo. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Nancy Taylor and Carol Zywicki; and dogs, Taz and Duff.
