Dorothy Irene Crittenden was born October 29, 1930, near Greenville, Tennessee, to Horace and Freddie (Bible) Crittenden. She moved to Iowa in the early 1950s where her sister Mary was living. Dorothy married in Iowa and had three children. She was very creative, painting wildlife in her younger years and hand-quilting or crocheting hundreds of pieces in her later years that she would often gift to friends and family. Dorothy enjoyed nature and wildlife, especially watching the river at Palisades Park. She was a quiet soul but above all loved her family, friends, and God.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and four sisters.

So sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. Drove her to a few appointments and really enjoyed visiting with her.

Dorothy was always so grateful for any help she received whether it was driving her to an appointment or taking a meal. She loved her family dearly though many lived far from her. Dorothy was a reader and generously donated many of her books to Community Bible Church Library. Her strong faith in her Savior helped her through many trials, and she was a quiet witness to us all.
