Donald Kirberger

Donald 'Don' 'Kirby' Kirberger, 88, of Marion, Iowa, died on Friday, January 19, 2024, at The Villages of Marion. Per Don's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Don was born on April 17, 1935. He had a career as a structural steel engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Don was a charter member of the Otter Creek Lions Club.
A very special thank you to the nurses and staff at The Villages of Marion and Care Initiatives Hospice for the care given to Don.

Karen, I was so sorry to learn of Don’s death. I have such good memories of when you lived here in our condo association and Don serving on on the Board. He was always busy keeping the grounds looking nice. Donna Roth
We only had a short while to get to know Don and Karen as we passed in the hallway of our condo. He always had a kind greeting and a story to share. I understand he was a valued caretaker of the outside properties of the WOA. May God grant you comfort, Karen, as you deal with his loss.

Don was a kind, hard working man and did so much good in this world. He was a dedicated Lion for many years. I always enjoyed visiting with him. My grandchildren still remember when he and Karen came to our home dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. He always thought of others before himself. Our heart felt sympathy to you Karen.
