Donald 'Don' Wayne Jones, 67, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa. A private Celebration of Life will be held on June 5th, 2025.
Don was born June 5, 1957, in Davenport, Iowa and was united in marriage to Teresa Lachmann on June 25, 1983, in Davenport. Don was a gifted soul with a poet's heart, often writing poems about the beauty he saw in life, faith, family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a proud loving father and grandfather. His family was the center of his world and he showed it in every hug, every word of encouragement, and every moment shared. He made friends wherever he went and gave his time generously, always ready to help those in need and was deeply committed to volunteering in his community and church. He will be missed more than words can express and remembered with warmth, laughter, and deep admiration.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lachmann-Jones; son, Shawn (Traci) Jones; and grandchildren, Xander and Quinn.

Don was the bestest friend. He was always available to come and go somewhere in the car 🚗. We went to thrift stores alot and he loved Christmas wreaths and mangers of Jesus. We went to prayer 🙏 meeting, Bible studies and stores for food. He helped me out emotionally and physically with he giving and kind soul. His country 🤠 hats was something he faithfully ware. I never told him when he looked to help me see when driving I couldn’t 🙈 see. Don was alot of 😊 fun and offered much to everyone. I loved him in Christs love and will miss him. I’m looking to see him again with Jesus in heaven someday. Thank the Lord. Jeff Morrow, Dons beats friend always.
I Can only imagine and Mary did you know was 2 of Dons favorite Christian songs.
It’s Friday and I miss my friend Don. I 😢 cry cause he’s not here anymore. I can’t call him and plans are done. No more time with him. I hope you understand.
I always enjoyed talking to Don outside whenever I took my dog outside. He was a nice person and loved his wife very much. He helped with our food pantry and if he saw a need he tried to meet it. Rest in peace Don.
