Dolores E. Hernandez, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. on Monday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include her husband, Ramon 'Ray' Hernandez of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Dorothy (Joe) Dunnwald of Waterloo, Margaret (Bill) Brousseau of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Marie (Ed) Clark of Traveres, Florida; a brother, John Remetch of Boyton Beach, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was born April 4, 1932, in Waterloo, the daughter of Marion and Florence (Tournier) Remetch. She graduated in 1950 from St. Mary's High School in Waterloo. On November 10, 1956, she married Ramon Hernandez in Cedar Rapids. Dolores worked for Dr. Carnes and Pratt Audio & Visual as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Mae Remetch; seven brothers, Joe, Charles, Alvin, Melvin, Richard, Walter, and James Remetch; and one sister, Ellen Stocks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Catholic Church or Mercy Medical Center.
