DiAnn Stevens

DiAnn Stevens, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on May 15, 2024, at Keystone at Forevergreen Place, North Liberty. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with Father John Flattery officiating. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery following the service. Luncheon will follow the burial at the church. DiAnn was born June 25, 1943, in Le Mars, Iowa, daughter to Wilbur and Mary Ester (Schnepf) Sieverding. She attended high school in LeMars and graduated from the University of Iowa. DiAnn moved to the Chicago area after graduation and eventually made her way back to Iowa. DiAnn worked the majority of her career at St. Luke's in the Cardiac Cath Lab. After retirement in 1995, DiAnn and her brother Roger traveled the Caribbean and Florida waters on their trawler. She explored thirteen countries and all fifty states in her travels through the years. In 2005, DiAnn moved back to Cedar Rapids. She would spend her summers on Rainy Lake, Minnesota, schedule a 'trip with Nana' every summer with the grandkids, and spend her winters in Cedar Rapids until she was no longer able. Survivors include her son, Keith (Jennifer); grandchildren, Parker and Sydney; brother, Tom Sieverding; and best friend, Pam Djerf. DiAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Mary Esther Sieverding; sister, Mary Rita Walsh; and brothers, Wilbur, Harry, Wayne (Bud), Roger, and Earl. The family extends a special thank you to Keystone of Forevergreen Place Memory Care Staff, Iowa City Hospice, Grand Living at Indian Creek Assisted Living, nieces, Linda Knudtson, Nancy Waldschmidt, Carol Clement; and nephew, Mike Sieverding; for the care and assistance through the final years. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Iowa City Hospice, All Saints Catholic Church, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in International Falls, Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice.

  3. I met Diane in 4th grade when we moved to Le Mars and we were friends all through school. She was always fun to be with, curious and very smart. I have fond memories of sledding on the hill in front of the Sieverding home and hot chocolate afterwords. May she rest in peace. Susan Kamp

  5. As a kid I rememder Di and mom painting ceramic for hours and coming up with rediculous Christmas poems. Di was with us for most holidays and family events. She will be missed. Our love and prayers are with Keith, Jenn, Parker and Sydney.
