Diane Burch

Diane Roberson Burch of Solon, died Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born in New Hampton, the daughter of Harvey and Elouise Roberson. She graduated from New Hampton High School and Iowa State University with a major in Agricultural Journalism. After graduation, she worked in editorial capacities for the Kansas City Pack newspaper, New England Horticultural Society, The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company, Connecticut Light and Power Company, Northeast Utilities, and after moving back to the Midwest, she worked as manager of the Galena Print Center, for the Eagle Window and Door Company, and as a guide at the Belvedere Mansion in Galena, Illinois. She is survived by her husband of forty-five years Donald, a daughter Sarah Jane (Marty) Gordon, a brother Robert (Marcia) Roberson, sisters: Jean Cutsforth, Betty (Robert) Arndt, Suzanne (Stewart) Stover, and Sara (Wayne) Haskovec, sister-in-law Barbara Burch, and many nephews and nieces. A celebration of her life will be held Monday October 28, 2013 at 11:00 am, at the First Presbyterian Church, Mount Vernon.   1. I just heard of Diane’s passing. What a wonderful woman she was! She will be missed! I never met anyone quite like her. My sympathies to all of her family.

I will always cherish the memories I had with your family, Diane and Donald always treated me with a warmth and respect that made me feel at home.   5. My fondest memories are of hours spent laughing, talking, and assembling jigsaw puzzles at Don & Diane’s dining room table. Diane had a dry sense of humor, was always warm and welcoming, and never shy about any topic of conversation!
