Dennis John Hamilton, 73 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include daughters, Kim (Chris) Reed, Kelly (Jason) Jeffrey; grandchildren, Kylie Jeffrey, Sam (Angel) Jeffrey, Jacob (girlfriend, Kianna) Jeffrey, Zaden Reed; great-grandchildren, Xander Jeffrey and Mason Jeffrey; sisters, Ann (Dan) Edmunds and Linda( Ron) Bearbower; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was born on March 9, 1951, the son of William and Betty (Bevins) Hamilton, in Cedar Rapids. Dennis had a 30 years career in telephone communications. He enjoyed playing games on his computer and doing crosswords from the Sunday newspaper. What he loved most of all was watching Nascar! He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Chase; brother, Tommy Chase; mother, Betty Curtis; father, Bill Hamilton; and grandson, Nathan Justice.
