Debra Schumacher

Debra Lee Schumacher, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Luke’s, Hospital. Visitation: 4:00-6:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2025, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Service. Burial: Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Debra was born on April 19, 1955, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Conrad and Carol (Quiese) Short. She married John Wagner, they later divorced. Debra was united in marriage to Jan Schumacher on February 20, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.

Debra worked as an accountant for Aegon for many years. Later she worked for a property management firm. Debra and Jan loved to rent a cabin in Waterville, Minnesota.  She loved to gamble.

Debra is survived by her children, Jamie (Jackie) Wagner, Brian Wagner, and Michelle (Joshua) Daws; grandchildren, Brianna (Brock) Luck, Brandon (Nicole) Wagner, Michael Barton, and Mason Daws; great-grandchildren, Bronson Luck, Brixton Luck, Brody Wagner, and Frankie Wagner; and sister-in-law, Paula Short.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, and brother, Robert “Bob” Short.
