David Dost, 65, beloved papa, father, and husband, passed away on February 13, 2025, from complication of a heart surgery at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. David was born July 10, 1959, in Iowa, son to Henry and Marie (Benda) Dost. David graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Kelly Brewer. David was a pro bass fisherman and loved nothing more than to make everyone's life better in any way he could. He will be severely missed and loved by all he has come in contact with. David is survived by his wife, Kelly Dost; children, Jacob Dost and Jessica Dost; step-daughter, Tome (Mark) McMurray, Tia Clark, and Trisha Ritter; sisters, Frieda Dost, Marcia (Jerry) Eilers, Sue Dost, Cindy (Randy) Swaim, and Joni (Rick Madsen) Hickman; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Barb Lofton.
