Darlene Glawe

Darlene M. Glawe, 82, of Janesville, Iowa, died Friday, April 11, 2025, at Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon, Iowa, surrounded by her family. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, is assisting the family with arrangements. She was born October 11, 1942, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Loretta (Eiffler) Mohr. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1961. Darlene married Roger Glawe on August 19, 1961, in Lime Springs, Iowa. They were married for over 59 years before Roger's passing in 2021. Darlene worked cleaning homes and was the church custodian for the Lutheran and Methodist churches in Janesville for many years. She worked up until her cancer diagnosis in 2023. She had a strong faith and was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Janesville and was a member of ALCW. She served as the church treasurer for many years as well. She enjoyed visiting with the church ladies and the fellowship they shared. She never met a sweet treat she didn't like. Survivors include one son, David (Kristi) Glawe of Atkins; one daughter, Tracy Glawe of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Murphy and Ana Glawe, Zach Freese, Cody, Caleb, Cayden and Brady Heath; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois (Bill) Reinhart and Linda (Larry) Trende, both of Cresco. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, a sister, Delores Schleusner, and her parents. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Janesville. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service. A light lunch will be served following the service.

I want to say how sorry I am for not being home when you went home to GOD.This just tore my world apart now im trying to forgive myself and go on I’m glad you got to hear my voice the day you left I know your pain free now and your home with dad and many more I know your here with me mom and im doing so good I work at Hampton inn now on level 2 at the facility will be out and in my own apt the end of Sept the boys are all doing good Brady enrolled in college for CNC your grandkids are so beautiful we all miss you more then I can say I Lpve You Mom RIP !!!
