Darlas Reilly, 85, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on March 5, 2023, at Friendship Haven. Funeral Services will be held at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 11:00 am with Rev. Matthew Haan officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Keystone. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 4-6pm.
Darlas Berdine was born November 7, 1937, at home in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Otto and Elsie (Sankey) Eschen. On September 28, 1957, she married Terrance Reilly. To their union they had nine children. All attended St. Matthew's School. Darlas worked as a cafeteria worker for over 20 years at Regis High School where her children all attended. Her life was her children. Darlas' hobbies included cleaning, playing cards, bingo, camping and canning homegrown vegetables. When possible, she'd enjoy a Pepsi or basking in the sunshine.
Thankful to have shared her life, are her children, Christina Auman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kathleen (Nick) Sienknecht of Clutier, Iowa, Steven (Deanna) Reilly of Lewisville, Texas, Timothy Reilly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tracy Reilly of Texas, Nancy (Shawn) Estrem of Greenwood, Indiana, Penney (Dave) Jenkins of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Dianna (John) Boleyn of Humboldt, Iowa, and Holly (Matt) Haan of Rock Valley, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy, Michael, Rebecca, Stephanie, Steve Jr., Leigha, Paige, Matthew, Makenzie, Brandon, Dallas, Isaac, Kelly, Aaron, Benjamin, Titus, Ezra, and Andrew; nine great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and countless nieces and nephews.
Darlas was preceded in death by her loving husband, Terrance; parents, Otto and Elsie; brothers, Louis (Shirley), Lee (Ina), Laverne, and Junior (Joann) Eschen; brothers-in-law, Hugh, Sam, Ron and Joe (Dixie) Reilly; sisters-in-law, Connie Lotto, Colleen (Jerry) Steepleton, and Sharon Wymore; and son-in-law, Mark Auman.
Memorials may be directed to Friendship Haven-Journeys Memory Unit.

Mom was a wonderful example of a woman who sacrificed for her family. She worked even harder when I started doing gymnastics to help pay for my lessons and meet expenses and I never heard her complain! Thanks for putting my needs above your own Mom.
