Dale Thomas Becwar was born December 13, 1944, in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. He proudly served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for several years where he was known for his baking skills. While working at his uncle's auto body shop, he met Carol Forst when she brought her car into the shop for repairs'he was smitten. They were married October 30, 1971, in Prairie Du Chien. He worked as a maintenance engineer at Colonial Bakery, and later began a company with his son, D & B Property Services, where he worked on maintaining buildings, equipment, and helped with upkeep and remodeling. He 'retired' a year or so ago, though no one is sure if he'd actually stopped working.
Dale enjoyed visiting local restaurants and casinos with Carol, traveling to Chicago and Denver, riding roller coasters, attending the Iowa State Fair each year, growing his very well-cared-for tomatoes, and tinkering in the garage. He was a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Dale's most cherished activity was spending time with his beloved family, especially the grandkids, whose activities and sports events he loved attending. He will be missed by his loving family. Dale was a supportive and caring person whose presence took over the room. He always knew what to say and his circle of family and friends were significantly meaningful to him. He was known to put everyone else first, and often said, 'But enough about me''

Will always remember my time at Colonial Bakery working for Dale. He was such a good man and always so patient. He taught me a lot and not just about machinery and maintenance but also about hard work, honesty and caring for others. He was truly a self made man who was very successful in life. I’m so glad I got to see Dale a couple years ago for a quick surprise visit. Carol we are so sorry for your loss. Dale will never be forgotten by me, he was a rare man. To my dear Aunt Carol and cousins Brandy, Holly, Brian and families. I am heartbroken to hear of Uncle Dale’s passing. I will forever cherish being the flower girl in your wedding, going ng to movies, drives looking at Christmas lights, family get togethers, summer vacations at your house, and so much more. Uncle Dale was a selfless man. He was always positive about life, had a listening ear, never judged, and gave great advice. The love he had for his family is a true inspiration to me. Uncle Dale will be missed, but never forgotten. Sending much love to all of you. Love, Lisa
