Charles Franck

November 21, 1973 ~ December 30, 2025

Charles Franck, known to many as Charlie, Uncle, and Papa, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on December 30, 2025. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 4:00–7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services in Cedar Rapids.

Guests are encouraged to wear orange and navy, or Chicago Bears attire, in his honor.

Charlie was born November 21, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Dale and Nancy (McGregor) Franck. He was united in marriage to Shannon Franck on March 28, 2003.

Charlie was a devoted Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and hockey fan and enjoyed relaxing on the couch, scrolling on his phone at full volume along with the TV. He loved cooking and baking, smoking meats, shredding his own cheese, watching WWE, and playing video games. Above all else, Charlie cherished the time he spent with Caden and his grandchildren. He lived a simple, content life and was known for his strong work ethic, never missing a day of work.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Shannon Franck; children, Kale (Chris), Courtney (Logan), Kyle, and Caden; grandchildren, Knox, Collyns, Lenyx, and Lowen; siblings, Jon, Sarah, and Jennifer; uncle, Bill; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members on all sides. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the family.

  1. Shannon and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts knowing the devastating pain you are in. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers ❤️

  2. Shannon and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I went to school with Charlie from elementary through high school. He was always so kind to everyone, and a Bear fan from very early on! You are all in my prayers.

  3. I knew Charlie since middle school. Always a nice kid, quiet back then. We played football together at both McKinley and Wash. From a fellow Bears fan, my sincere condolences.

  4. I got the pleasure meeting/mentoring Charles when he 1st started at Collins Aerospace. He was one of the sweetest guys and such a very hard worker! I was honored to meet and train him. He was such a pleasure to be around with his positive vibes and always smiling. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Charles
