Bruce “Tiny” Steele, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 5, 2025. A Life Celebration will be held by the family at a later date.

Born to Lawrence Swindall and Joann Steele on November 28, 1967, Bruce enjoyed his large family in Chicago, Illinois. He married Ester Ayers; they later divorced. After moving to Iowa City, he married and enjoyed life with Annia Lowe.

Bruce had a lot of love to give and people in his life who loved him. Jesus was a huge part of his life, along with his dog Lady, and their cats. Everywhere he wanted to go, Bruce loved to walk there, no matter how far it might be. He listened to the birds and enjoyed the fresh air. He was a very positive soul.

Surviving Bruce are his wife, Ann; son, Mylus; step-son, Sean; grandchildren, Mylah, Mylus Jr., Mysen, and Mylee; brothers, Vincent and Tony; in-laws, Debbie, Jeff, and Yashmine; former wife, Esther; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles and aunts, Leon, Thelma, David, Moses Jr., and Gino; and brother, Robert.

  2. Many know him as Bruce…. -But his real true’s, knew him as Tiny. I’m sitting here at a loss for words right now. My heart is broken. Being Tiny’s 1st Cousin we have a long family history. Special moments growing up together, I won’t soon forget. I love you, Boy!! Your wife Ann was your angel here on earth. Taking you from that dark place in Chicago… Showing much love and support over the years. She prepared you for this journey to once again see your Mother and our many loved ones in heaven. You’re at peace now, rest easy! Our family has taken a huge hit these last few years. We really need to reflect on these cherished memories.
