Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our family would like to extend their sincere sympathy to the passing of Mr. Seyba. He taught our children, Jeff, Judd, and Judith, many years ago at McKinley. We will remember him fondly.

  2. One of the many figures I will remember at the Seyba household. Wrestling jackets and handsome brothers of my best friend, Linda. May the comfort of all the good memories prevail.

  3. Your Father was such a kind, funny man. He came into eat Breakfast almost every day. His stories from teaching/coaching were hilarious. We looked forward to his daily visits. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to your family. ♡

  4. Mr Seyba was a teacher of mine at McKinley. Such a helpful, kind hearted soul. My deepest sympathy to the family. Rest in peace Mr. Seyba.

  5. I remember Bob from West High. He was always sincere and happy. A true friend. I know that Bob is sitting at the Eternal Banquet Table enjoying the time with Angels and those who have gone before, welcoming Bob home. May God send Angels to comfort those he left behind!

  6. Took a science class with Mr. Seyba at McKinley and loved every minute of it. Treasure your memories. May you find peace and comfort in the days to come.

  7. I taught and coached with Bob at McKinley throughout the 1970’s. I was new in town and he took me under his wing, mentoring me about the many aspects of being a good teacher. Bob also introduced me to lots of Iowa activities that I knew nothing about: Hawkeye football, wrestling, the Amana Colonies, Drake Relays, and lots of weekend drives through NE Iowa back roads, helping me find the best cheeseburgers and coldest beer in many counties. Those are fond memories for me. My most sincere condolences to Bob’s family and friends. He was a good man, a fine educator, and a proud father to his children. I’m sorry you lost him so soon.

  8. Jason and Jamie, I was so sorry and so sad to read of your Dad’s death. What a wonderful man. Our friendship began at Franklin Middle School where both Jill and Jeremy were privileged to be in his 8th grade science classes and where I also taught. Through the years we enjoyed sharing stories about what the two of you were doing as well as what my kids were doing.. He was so proud of the two of you, your wives, and those special grandchildren, I will miss the visits we used to have at HyVee as we bumped into each other while shopping or enjoying deli food. I’ll not be able to get back to CR in time for his memorial services, but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you on Saturday morning.. Jan Vauthrin

  9. Mr. Seyba was my science and gym teacher his first year at Johnson school.
I was in sixth grade. I truly enjoyed his passion for teaching. I would run into him over
the years and he never forgot my name. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

  10. My husband and I are truly sorry for your tremendous loss and would like to express our condolences to the entire family. We cannot imagine the great pain and sorrow you are experiencing during this very difficult time. It is our sincere hope you find comfort in knowing that God has promised to “swallow up death forever” (Isaiah 25:8), and that he will resurrect our dear loved ones who have passed away. (John 5:28). May your many great memories help you find peace and comfort as you go through the coming days.

  11. CONDOLENCES TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY AS I REMEMBER BOB FROM HIS DAYS COACHING WRESTLING AT MCKINLEY. BILL MCNIEL JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL

  12. Jason, James, and family, I was sadden to hear of your father’s death. I worked with your father at Franklin and really enjoyed working with him. He was a wonderful person and great co-worker. I have lots of good memories. My children also had him for a teacher while they attended Franklin. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

  13. I was very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. I wish to offer my sincere sympathy to his family and friends. I knew Bob best in these later years of retirement when he attended the elementary Physical Education Teacher luncheons once a month. Bob was a joy to talk with and visit about past experiences and the family connections he had with his children and family. I will greatly miss him and the fun times we had at these lunch gatherings. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time

  14. I had the honor of working with Coach Seyba and the McKinley wrestling team when I was a student at Coe College. He knew his stuff. More importantly, he knew kids. He held them to high expectations no matter who they were. He cared for every one of them. May Coach Seyba rest in Peace and the Peace of the Lord be upon his family.

  15. Bob & I became friends early on when he coached wrestling at McKinley and I was at Franklin. We had some great times “on the mat.” Our friendship grew to greater heights when he transferred to Franklin and we became a team. We turned out some pretty good teams….and I got to know his boys, who wrestled for the “Bolts.” Really enjoyed our surprise meetings at the Hy Vee over the years. Our prayers for you and your family, Bob. God Bless.
