Betty will definitely be missed. I enjoyed visiting and seeing her daily when I worked at corridor crossing place. She always knew I had dogs and she would make sure to save out a few treats when she would see me. I loved our conversation time everyday I was there. We shared some wonderful conversation and I will carry those stories and her memories in my heart. My deepest condolences are with the family as well. Rest easy my sweet angel ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing this. Mom cherished all the friendships she had while at Corridor Crossing.
So sorry to hear about your Mom she was such a Lovely Lady. Wonderful women inside and out always having a good time where ever she was. She will be deeply missed.
Thank you Deb, Mom loved you too.
One of my biggest memories of my grandma was when my mom dropped me and my sister off there I think for the summer for a couple weeks and one night I was there I had a terrible night mare and my grandma was there to comfort me. I think about that quite a bit and was always thankful for that. I love you grandma and know you’re up there with grandpa now in a much better place as a beautiful angel 👼🏼
She was such a sweet person, like a 2nd mom to me, she treated me like her son with lots of love, always asking how I was or worried about me if there was something wrong. I am so thankful for knowing her and hold a special place in my heart for her, The one’s that we love never truly leave us there are things that death just cannot touch. Love You
Nate, Maggie and family: We are very sorry for your loss. She sounded like a wonderful lady and grandma. You’re in our prayers.
In the late 1960’s, Betty Meis worked the night shift producing publication repro material at Collins Radio Company. She was one of two Editor/Proofers, and always was a good and pleasant person to work with. I’m glad she was able to retire from Collins. (I left in the 2/3 layoff in the 1970’s.)
You will be remembered forever with all our love,
I have so many great memories of Grandma over the years that it’s hard to narrow it down to my favorite. She was one of the most loving and caring people that I’ve ever met. If I close my eyes I can picture being at her and Grandpa’s house perfectly like I’m there with them again. My last moments with her, laughing and sharing memories together, will be with me forever. I love you Grandma ❤
Tony and I have such fond memories of our many times visiting in Cedar Rapids with Tom and Betty and, after Tom passed, with Betty. We loved to talk for hours, reminiscing about the past, and catching up on all the current news about the family. Her memory was so sharp, and she was such a great storyteller. She had a beautiful smile, easy laugh, and always made us feel welcome and at home. We love and miss you, Betty. You will be remembered forever.
Many memories, especially after mom died and going back home to Cedar Rapids meant going to Tom and Betty’s. In fact, as Jamie reminded me, one year I called to wish Tom a Happy Father’s Day! I could just as well wished Betty a Happy Mother’s Day; she was always there to welcome me, take care of me, and make me feel at home. We miss you, Betty! Pray for us!
Condolences to everyone in the Meis family. Betty was a good mom and grandma. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Love, Scott Hippert
