Barbara Murphy

Barbara Ann Murphy, 89 and five days, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away, on October 3, 2023, at the Rehab Center of Lisbon. No services will be held. The Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, Iowa, is assisting the family with arrangements. Barbara Murphy was born, on September 28, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Myron and Anna (Diedrich) Smith. She married Kalmer Murphy Sr. and to this union, they had three children. They later divorced. Barbara worked as a nurse for most of her life. She was a photographer and ran her own photo lab. Barbara is survived by her children, Kalmer Murphy Jr., Konrad (Pam) Murphy, and Anna Wallace; grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy, Ryan (Karysa) Murphy, and Dakota Murphy; great-grandson, Gryffin Murphy; and brother, Dale (Midori) Smith. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ronald Smith; and son-in-law, Robert Wallace.
