Barbara J. Matheny, age 88, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones on May 6, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.
Barbara was born on March 25, 1937, in Manchester, Iowa, to Bruce and Geraldine Dunlap. She graduated from Marion High School in 1955 and married Donovan Morrison that same year. Together they had five children. In 1994, she married Donald Matheny.
Barbara loved spending time with her family and had a passion for baking cakes, quilting, and crafting blankets, especially for her grandsons who earned their Eagle Scout awards. In her free time, she enjoyed diamond dot art, puzzles, and watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; beloved dog, Holly; her children, Curt (Cathy) Morrison, Suzanne (Davey) Fisher, Denise (Carey) McNeme, Craig (Monica) Morrison, daughter-in-law, Robin Morrison and Brandi (Aaron) Stillions; grandchildren, Brandy Morrison, Benjamin (Tammi) Morrison, Robby (Fianc�� Lakyn) Morrison, Ross (Rebecca) Morrison, Logan (Tony) Morrison, Sabrina (Justin) Schmitz, SPC Brandon Morrison, Jordan Morrison, Miranda Morrison, Dana Fisher, Andrew (Stacy) Fisher, Joshua (Tiffany) Fisher, SGT William Garrett McNeme, Preston (Natascha) McNeme, Nicholas (Ariel) Morrison, Tyler Stiffler, Amelia (Chris) Carter, Emma Stiffler, Lucas Stiffler, Alex Stiffler, and Harlow Stillions; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Diane Kent and Roxanne Redmond; and brother, James Dunlap.
She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Donovan Morrison; parents, Bruce and Geraldine Dunlap; son, Randal 'Randy' Morrison; and great grandson, Casey Alexander Fisher-Calaman.
