Barbara Campbell

Barbara A. Campbell, 91, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Northbrook Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, after a short battle with dementia. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.

Barb was born on November 17, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Bernice Hansen. Barb worked at Mount Vernon Steel and Wire for many years and transferred to Langer Manufacturing of Cedar Rapids, where she retired.

Barb’s entertainment and hobbies were primarily of Bingo at Hawkeyes Downs and St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, and hitting the slot machines in Tama and Riverside with best friend and sister-in-law, Bev Demory.

Barb is survived by her children, Galeen (Lawrence) Kamerling, Rick Barkdoll, Kelly LeGrand, Carlton “C.T.” (Dawn) Campbell, and Kandi (Chad) Vozenilek; grandchildren, Robby (Kendra) Kamerling and Racheal (Ben) Lawrence; and great grandchildren, Keean, Kelsey, Walker, and Delaney.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Lopata; sister, Patricia Cope; brother, Jerry Demory; son, Thomas Campbell; grandson, Ross Kamerling; long time companion, Melvin Kesselring; and their rescue dog, Babe.

There will be a private family burial at Lisbon Cemetery in August.
